Delta Air Lines, Inc. DFP - IFE Systems Engineer II in Atlanta, Georgia
This is a position for employment at a Delta Air Lines wholly-owned subsidiary, Delta Flight Products; not Delta Air Lines.
Responsible for developing new IFE system and architecture including creating requirements definition, acceptance test procedures, system architecture, ICD, and any other required system documents. Additional responsibilities include interfacing with customers, suppliers and other project stakeholders pertaining to IFE design projects.
Implement the system architecture in conjunction with marketing and product line development for various aircraft platforms.
Serve as the main technical interface for the aircraft platform between the airframer, product line manager and airlines.
Participate in project design review meetings to ensure design meets intended requirements.
Develop system engineering test plans and assure the execution of the plan and reports.
Develop relationships with Airframer and retrofit engineering teams, leading to successful system integration and collaboration.
Collect and document system architecture and cabin system interface requirements into system specifications and block diagrams.
Define system engineering evaluation, functional, and operational testing.
Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
Position will require both domestic and international travel.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 3-5 yrs aviation related experience; or
Masters Degree in Engineering with 1-3 yrs aviation related experience; or
Ph.D. in Engineering; or
5-9 yrs in a technical aviation related discipline with 2-3 in an aviation engineering organization
B.S. in engineering or related scientific field. EE, IE, or CS preferred.
At least three (3) years direct engineering work experience, two (2) of which in a system engineering role.
Must possess working knowledge of electronic system design techniques and engineering specifications and drawings.
Must have strong computer skills and demonstrate proficiency with CAD systems and MS Office programs.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have good interpersonal skills.
Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, critical thinker with project management skills.
Knowledge of aircraft interior cabin electrical, avionics and entertainment systems.
Solid understanding of industry standards.
