Delta Air Lines, Inc. DMS Controller in Atlanta, Georgia

The Controller is responsible for managing a team of one or more finance professionals. This position responsible for all financial accounting, planning and analysis activities related to material purchasing and selling.

This position is based in Atlanta and will report to the VP - Finance

Primary Functions include but are not limited to:

Responsible for implementing and reporting internal controls as well as managing the inventory audit process.

Leads development of annual capital plans, annual operating budgets, and monthly financial forecasts for Delta Material Services.

Reviews revenues and costs to ensure compliance with Delta accounting standards and GAAP.

Designs and leads strategic financial analyses, and communicates conclusions and recommendations to senior management.

Consolidates and presents plan and forecast variance explanations to business unit leaders.

Partners with business unit leaders to develop and implement cost management initiatives and programs.

Works closely with the company's operational planning team to evaluate and optimize the financial impacts of trends in volume and forward looking demand.

Responsible for ensuring that the business is in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley regulations and other financial control requirements.

Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety conscious environment that results in employee safety and well-being.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field is required. MBA, CPA or Master's degree in a business acumen is preferred.

Five plus years of relevant experience with two or more years of corporate finance experience is required; airline-specific experience preferred

Must have excellent organizational skills, strong business acumen, proven verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management

Must have ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to leverage resources across all divisions at Delta

Strong analytical, research, and financial skills

Experience with Essbase preferred

Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Must be performing satisfactorily in present position
