Delta Air Lines, Inc. MANAGER - RELIABILITY ANALYSIS in Atlanta, Georgia

The Manager of Reliability Analysis supports Delta's Technical Operations division with strategic solutions and analysis across a variety of topics, with a focus on two key concepts:

  • Aircraft Reliability

  • Defined by the volume, rate, and nature of the mechanical malfunctions of the aircraft

  • The position supports Engineering, Planning, Materials/Logistics, and Maintenance teams in analysis of trends and drivers of aircraft availability for development of improvements to aircraft functions by direct modification or changes to maintenance activity, particularly proactive or preventative solutions

  • Operational Reliability

  • Defined by the availability and utilization of processes, buffers, and mitigation actions to support adequate availability of aircraft to fly the schedule

  • The position supports Maintenance, Planning, Materials/Logistics, and Engineering teams in analyzing trends and drivers to determine how inputs such as the flight schedule, spare availability, and utilization of aircraft maintenance opportunities impact results metrics and key performance indicators

The Manager leads a team of highly capable individuals in the activities above, and is directly responsible for coaching and development of team members. A successful Manager of this team will drive the Technical Operations division forward by developing and/or influencing strategic solutions supported by timely, accurate, and impactful analysis. This person will utilize the strengths of the team and bring together business units for collaborative, cross-functional solutions that account for dependencies between teams, thereby enabling data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or other quantitative discipline and at least 5 years of relevant experience is required, or a Master's degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience

  • Prior team leadership experience preferred

  • Excellent problem solving, quantitative, and analytical abilities as well as data and process curiosity

  • Proficiency in working with relational databases and query authoring (SQL)

  • Working knowledge of dashboard/report building (SAS, Tableau and other platforms)

  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts preferred

  • High degree of interpersonal savvy; strong written and oral communication, proven track record of implementing data solutions to drive business results

  • Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills

  • The ability to interact and collaborate at all levels within Operations Analysis & Performance, Network Planning, cross-divisional working groups, and outside entities

  • Must be performing satisfactorily in present position
